My Panamania Picks

PanamaniaI am not a sports person and I am especially not a big, expensive, multi-countries, multi-sports person. In other words, the Pan Am Games have no appeal to me. Well, almost no appeal as there is one aspect of the games that has caught my eye: Panamania.

Panamania, the Pan Am’s arts and culture program, launches on July 10 and will see the city host a series of concerts and other performances (including circus acts) at Nathan Phillips Square, the Distillery District and the new CIBC Pan Am Park, which is located over on the CNE grounds.  While some of its events are ticketed, the bulk are free and the lineups are pretty impressive considering the price and that this summer has been brutal when it comes to booking talent (it’s because of all of those festivals).

Let’s end this post with some music by Kieza, who’s appearing twice at Panamania and who I’ll finally get to see this summer.
