On Sunday, the British city of Bristol played host to a 300-foot water slide that ran down a city street. While 96,000 people wanted to take the plunge, only 360 got their wish. They were picked via a lottery system while a mixture of water and dish soap helped the lucky winners down the slide.
The giant slide was part of the kick-off event for Making Sunday Special, a festival that takes place in Bristol the first Sunday from May-September. It features special art installations, like the slide; food vendors; music; street closures and more. It also makes for great inspiration for something like say, the proposed Bloor Street Open Street festival.
